5 for a Fifty-Fifty concept

The idea is kind of funny, I am one of those people who tries to get all the medals I can but am now about to call it quits due to poorly coded medals, I don't mean this game, and that some are too difficult even for me who is somewhat good at these things, not great. This game is more comedic then entertaining. If you really wanted to get into people's heads you would have made all the medals worth 5 points so there is no real purpose in getting the medals unless you are extremely obsessive.

On a different note, Although your comment dictates what you would do if you had OCD and this was a trigger, its very unlikely and seems distracting. OCD would be a maze game that was really difficult, not sitting for an hour holding a key.

Finally, the concept, although funny, is like the game Achievement Unlocked, funny because you find yourself trying to get the achievements and how odd of a tendency you have to do this, but you missed the boat since the joke has already been made and it isn't entertaining again.

Its really sad

No matter how hard I try I can't shake the little joy feeling from the silly smiles on everything and then the same one when the guy is yanking it, and not laugh and smile, its beyond me.

Great thing man.

Your amazing style is more suited for animation.

I love your work and this is again now less than flawless with beautiful characters, backgrounds, everything. The problem is the game play. Although the dynamic camera is very..dynamic it doesn't really help when your aiming options are still left, right, up, and diagonals. For the camera to work some sort of lock on system would be needed and for the camera to not twitch so much. If you could force a more panaramic view so it can show enemies and not shake and zoom with every movement it would make it much easier to understand whats going on and to be able to play effectively. The enemies seemed to juggle me everywhere and it was probably because of my lack of being able to shoot them down. One more point about the camera is when no enemies are around the camera zooms in rediculously close to the point where you can't see where you should jump or anything.

The point being, your refined and solid art seems to lose appeal in this form, its hard to enjoy the pretty graphics when you are being tossed and shaken by god knows what. The camera basically suits animation instead of gaming, and for the game to work it would have to be a broad camera angle detracting from the pretty art. Thats the sad part is how good everything is but it just being way to difficult to figure out what is going on.

Aside from that the game is good and solid so it isn't inherantly bad so keep up the good work and maybe hire a cameraman.

Ouch.

The chumps who made Joy2Key owe you money because after playing this game, I am actually considering buying a controller or something, seriously, making a game that requires a lot of pressing of a single key, and having that key where your ring finger is, thats my main complant, remappable controls or at least keep the keys where you only need 2 fingers to do the non-movements.

As for the game, the game is very unforgiving in you start out against a boss who basically will kick your ass until you get a feel for the controls, which although are solid, are hard to get used to. Having a small tutorial or a just a small feature allowing you to practice combos, blocking, and that stuff, that would lower the amount of rage quitters but not take away from the difficulty of the game. You only get 9 stars because I can't type a's without spikes of pain.

Innovative!

I love the game, the dynamic is strong, the controls are simple, its fun and you get sucked in by the variations in weapons, although most types of arrows are useless. The time arrows were the biggest let down, they were basically lag arrows, they slowed the game for what seemed no reason, I don't know if it was intentional or what but they didn't help at all, even fully upgraded.

The big problem was the difficulty curve with different combos. Enemies enter so fast you can't drag quick enough to shoot them down by aiming, so if you try that its rediculous, but if you want to win with little effort, change the aiming to hold, purchase the multi turrets and fully upgrade homing and explosive arrows, release the multi turrets and just start clicking, no matter how weak you pull them back they almost always lock on and attack anyway, so just click spam and you are bound to win.

All in all, great game, just it got rediculously easy when you get homing missles.

Glitch ruined it for me

I played for 20 minutes and although sucked at it, enjoyed it, but I began to notice glitches with doors where my character would go through the door without opening them, but none broke the game, until the 3rd level after the skateboard where you rode your skateboard over the ramp and over the spikes. My character made it but slid off screen and no matter what i did never returned to the screen.

Bah

I just got done beating this game on Kon, oh well, NG is better.

The game is good, the only negative is the repetative voice acting. And the final level is rediculously easy.

Maybe adding some more building upgrades or something, but its still flawless.

WOW!

I never knew this stuff was that complex, I just add things and hop they turn out right... It helps to have the geometry behind this stuff, I just distort things with the free transform tool. That is very helpful sir.

After you started the flash segment, was the entire thing done in flash? I know the first few images weren't because of the shading gradients but was the other stuff done in flash? That was amazing, I have been struggling with perspectives so this was a great help. You are a master.

it was made in blender

Funny concept

Glad it beat all the crap that normally gets these awards but sadly making this stuff is giving the attention he wanted. Oh well, maybe he'll get a cock in the ass in prison.

Hes not an arsonist, hes a pussy.

I like the concept of character selection, greatest part other than the parody. You should have had a cock in the background when he was in prison.

I don't know how they assign medals to games.

But if an NG staff member programmed them in and had played this game, shame on them.

The only reason I think people are playing this is because of the achievements, me being one of them.

This game is a shining example of over complexity. There are so many moves and so many attacks and variables and upgrades and I'm sure if I programmed the game I would know how to use these to my advantage but none of them really helped the fact that some enemies cannot be killed without hiding and shooting them which gets very boring. Another reason you should use guns is because every attack moves you forward by about a twentieth of the level, one combo puts you and the enemy too the wall so not only can you not manuver, half of the characters arent visible so you just jam the attack button, maybe hit up or down a few times, then after your arm gets tired, land. Wait about 1 second because any button presses after an attack don't work until you have stood still long enough for the bad guy to hit you a few times.

The gun play was original in a sword game but the fact that bullets don't stop these people but spinning what looks like two semicircles around completely kill thems them and makes everyone fly around seems stupid. And I don't mean to say that this should be realistic by anymeans but some things shouldn't be tampered with. If you wanted us to use the swords make them worth it. When you and two enemies are fighting you don't know if you are hurting them or they are hurting you because you have already disappeared off the side of the screen. Then if they knock you on your ass you don't know if you are down there so you sit quietly while the AI waits for you to get up.

Thats another issue. I tried the game on normal and noticed how slowly the enemies moved but when they reached me had no trouble killing me because I can't move when being attacked and cant defend so I had to run away and shoot them. So i took it to the lowest difficulty and they moved even slower but still held me in place while i punched the keyboard trying to tell my guy to run away from the badguys with swords knowing that I have a gun.

This is too complex for a flash game, theres too many things that happen, you need a 3D environment if you want this kind of action, its won't work, even on a sidescroller with a y-axis like Castle Crashers. I beat the first level of this on mortal, got a B some how although I had like a sliver of health left and basically use guns the entire time.

Simplify it, make it work, make it fun.

Now that that part is done I am going to point out how you should have play tested this because it is full of errors and glitches, I put this down here so if they are fixed my review isn't a giant rant about problems that were fixed.

-Character spawns under map every few games.
-Bad guys have no animation, not sure if this is a glitch or if you really wanted them to tween across the screen and have swords appear when they can hit you.
-Weapon switching causes issues with being able to move, if you switch weapons and try to attack you get stuck until an enemy knocks you away
-Your wall kick type thing on the first level is off screen so you just disappear and cant move instead of being able to see your character on the wall.
-There was no save button before the second level, so I had to X-out and lose my little point things because I couldn't save till I beat the 2nd level which I can't do because of what I have just said.
-There is no warning you are being hurt, no sounds, nothing. I hope this is a glitch because otherwise you should have just given the character one hit kills so they don't get pissed at how fast they get die when they start with a big nice health bar.
-Targeting system with guns doesn't work or doesn't prioritize. I wanted to shoot the baddies that could blow up if they touched me and I targeted the guy way in the back instead. Then had to run away and try to retarget.
-After attacks, cant move for about 2 seconds unless i want to attack again.

That's it, I am out of characters.

It's been a long time.
