Simple and elegant.

I am very impressed. Usually the guys with facial expressions means that the animation wont be very good, either short, full of mistakes, or just stupid. You surprised me by keeping a very good quality of animations, keeping all the effects, doing some nice backgrounds, and keeping a good length. I enjoyed all the little jokes, especially Dad, new afro was a bit off, we need to get Krinkels to make a new flame animation for his afro. The facial expressions puts this above just another sprite animation so I really enjoyed this. Not ground breaking but old fashion madness, no gimicks, no poorly made sprites, all simple and elegant.

Kind note to the submitter:

I understand that these collabs cannot be uniform since its a bunch of tests, I accept that, but who ever glues this whole swf together needs to at least make some things to make it more presentable. I always watch these knowing some will be better than others but I am amazed at how many people constantly clutter their screen with stupid buttons. In a single full length animation, a very small quality button is okay, nothing else, no fake production names, no newgrounds ads, just HML. In these however, no one should have one. After everyone sends you their files, delete their stupid crap, and make your own. Main thing you need is the author, use the same font, same part of the screen, if you can't do a roll over popup just make it small, simple font, in the corner. If you must, which you don't, its horribly pointless since we can right click, put an HML near their name. That is it. Its hard to review these things for content since its a big pile of tests but the least someone can do is make them look a little nicer. I think these things should be made, they are interesting and good ways for new animators to get some work seen, but who ever assembles the fla needs to put in a little effort. Don't worry about flashy menus and crap, preloader, then get your format set up. If you want, then add menus but I would rather have a play button that just loops back to the loader than have an elaborate menu then see a bunch of crap spilled all over every animation.

Keep doing these, just make them more presentable.

I love the idea.

The animation was nice, a little speedy at times but the idea was fun, madness in a portal test chamber was cool, liked all the different gags and deaths. The ending was pretty well timed also, which is hard to coordinate since flash has the annoying habit of slowing down and losing sync, but at medium it worked just fine for me. Great job. Start putting more time into that 3D thing, I liked all of the trailer except the very end where it was Hank laying the murder on that smithys, hank seemed to have way to much brightness and since you are doing 3D, don't use usual camera angle, use your renders and do some cool stuff, if I want to watch that view I just look at Krink's stuff. Great job on both things and I hope the 3D movie comes out next year!

Nostalgic

I liked all the references, I never played the second game but I enjoyed all the little quirks like the shyguy tripping and the hammer's charge up. Gonna have to play through the original now. Definately amusing and clever. If you wanted the big money I think you know what has to be made.

i never played the second game either. lol

LENGTH

I must admit, this is one of the best storybased madness movies of all time. The only thing that keeps it from being my favorite is the animation. Don't get the idea that I didn't think this was great, it was. My only complaint is in some of the details. You did a great job with the cinematic view, and far better than most. The only thing you could have done better would have been to touch up a few details, maybe put in some hard shading on some walls, add a little more texture, and add some of the little things that make a big difference like shell casings and fluid movement. While some of the art was flat, it usually is when done in flash. If you put in a few more details, worked on some shading to give some more depth, and touched up some effects, this would be the best non-sprite madness animation. I loved it, the voice actors were great, although they rarely work in Madness, maybe some more face details could permit a mouth. Amazing stuff, you have a lot of talent, plus it was long! I love when flashes have some length to them.

Camera Movement

Simply, it was amazing. By far one of the best FBF madness movies and definatly the most cinematic. The main thing I want to mention is the camera movement. I know square rooms aren't horribly difficult to spin on flash, just takes lots of effort, but what did you use to spin those crates? The crates near the grenade part seem to be way to detailed for you to skew them to make a rotation. Did you do all of the spinning in flash? To me, thats what should get you some money. If you did that on the vector plane then you should win this thing, if you used a 3d render to make it, it was still impressive, making this one of the best FBF's, but if thats vector then you deserve some big money.

Amazing no matter what, I loved the effects and animation, but its all about those boxes.

Smooth stuff

I like that it was almost all FBF, it matched the random hecktic scenes. The backgrounds were very high detail in contrast to the almost necessary simple figures for FBF, the contrast seemed to fit. I had never heard this version of the song, I have the original so I was skeptical about a music video for the original since the original already has a great music video but this matched the change in pace perfectly for both animation and music. I enjoyed it a lot.

Amazing.

I was afraid there was going to be little left to improve animation wise since all the blood effects and flames were in perfect form, adding in new effects for Hank as well as increasing the use of Auditor's flame effects seems like the most difficult way to make the new movie more impressive but you pulled it off in style. I was really hoping to see more Hank vs. Auditor and you delivered it. Sanford seemed a little out of place when the two Goliaths were fighting but he added a good original madness feel to the combat. I was hoping to use some electricity effects and need for power in a Dad movie but didn't get the flow right. It may be less original but using your examples it will be a lot easier. I hope you continue animating, your skill has yet to regress and you can make some great things.

Missed opportunity

When he was stumbling drunk he should have blamed the Jews. Aside from the obvious mistake it was pretty funny, I like when animators can mock their own work, especially if they do it correctly.

Those were the days

I used to play that game over 50 hours a week, I was a high scoring attack scout and all was good. Then the updates came and the new weapons ruined the scouts tactics, I gave up when the engy update arrived. Great flash, Valve needs to see this.
I liked the animation, same feeling I get except the game is just full of sentry guns now. You need a medal.

It's been a long time.
