Pretty fun

I like the idea of it, the original splatterhouse games were a lot of fun just to watch. I liked the idea of how the game is controlled and your explanation of how you made it work is amazing, using only 3 common commands to make a working game is awesome. Only reason I'm not giving a ten is because after the first boss, is because of bugs, the simple code is hard to debug but it still is buggy. My main problem is after the first boss, there are a bunch of different bugs. The first bug I found is with the hanging corpses, sometimes I could kill them every time without getting hurt, but then other times I couldn't jump back to avoid being hit. The second bug was about half of the times I attempted the second segment, I got stuck on an infinite loop, never encountering a boss and usually not having any enemies to fight, just walking in place for eternity. The problem that got me to quit, whether its a bug or not, is the 2nd boss doesn't seem to respond to the mouse movements. I had the sequence figured out on how to hit him but 3 out of 4 attacks just didnt work and he hit me. There was either a very small window of time to attack or there was a bug. It wasn't consistent and got really annoying.

I really liked the game despite all this. I hope you find a company to hire you soon.

Wow, I have had this game and played it for 4 years and never saw the infinite loop, and I have always been able to kill the Hanging guy and perfect Biggy Man. I take your word for it and I appreciate what points I got from you despite the annoying Glitches you found. Thanks.

Hurry up and take my money!

Its amazing that it takes longer to buy this game than it does to download and install it, it took less than a minute to get and launch this game. I really love these games you guys make, even if they are a little weird.

My only possible criticism, assuming the game works fine all the way through, is that while its based on a famous story, it seems less creative than Super Meat Boy, I just hope it is more forgiving. Keep making these for 5 dollars and I will continually give you my Subway lunch money, 2 meals a day is worth a couple dozen hours of fun.

Wow, never got the reference

Is it bad that it took me this long to realise who the guy in the sunglasses was supposed to be? Postal dude right?

I love the game, its a great thing you can spend hours on making something that you love, regardless of how bad it is, its yours.

I don't have a song to post though, I guess I am boring.

Definition of run and gun.

Really good game, I liked the choice of weapons, some were really fun but I still think the explosive weapons are way to weak, I got through the game with the second SMG, the sniper rifle and SMG combo can pretty much beat the first 25 levels, then chainsaw and smg win the rest. it was a great game besides the inconsistent weapon power.

I liked the art, but it was hard to notice since I was trying to shoot the zombies, the collection seemed useless unless you wanted highscores, and most of the collections were missed anyway.

I liked the game overall, but I cant kill 10 with a barrel, killed 9 about 15 times but no 10 kills. I give it 9 zombies out of ten.

Easy and bad.

First, the goods.
They music was amazing, some of the best in a long time. Art was pretty good, a little simplistic but it worked, and the cut scenes were very well made, although short.

Difficulty
I suck at these side scrollers, I always have, but it seems that it was way to easy, even considering my horrible abilities. The hard mode did make it a little harder, but comparing it to a game of minesweeper, normal is beginner, and hard is medium, both really easy.

Controls
They functioned for me, but they were far from enjoyable, basically it was jam A, then move horizontal, jam A again. The bosses were pitiful, most of the time I killed them without getting hurt, and the weapon balance had issues. Crowbar was 2nd best because the D attack was useful, the best was the spear thing since it 1 hit killed people and you could basically clear 3 sets waves of enemies with a single use.

Kinda backhands my opinion on Po3, i used to think the programmers drew the short stick on this, this is the exception that proves the rule I suppose.

I feel bad

I wasn't expecting any real violence in this and spilled my soda when Hansel fell from the sky and splattered, from there all the deaths were funny but wow, I almost ruined an expensive keyboard with a can of TaB.

Game was great, it works very smoothly, it was fun to play, well made, well coded, well everything. The biggest positive was the logical way of doing things, unlike a lot of other point and click games that require random guessing.

The deaths were pretty damn creative too, the axe one was a bit bizzare/extreme, but still mildly fun.

Bated breath for part 2.

Thank goodness your keyboard is ok. I almost spilled my soda reading your review. Amazing!

Not bad

Pretty sweet, you got some of the best ones, unfortunately he has too many to put in a flash, most of the class specific taunts are pretty good, like Hey look, he shapeshifted into a dead guy, and most of the sniper taunts.

The best of the non-class specific taunts, got all of those. Good job hardhat.

Pretty sweet

Probably the best Madness game ever made, at least better then anything other than interactive. This game was a lot prettier and more fun to play, but it has one big problem with it. I know theres the bug with the final fight scene but there is another thing that really takes away from the experience.

The gun swapping is really annoying. I know it would be tricky to make the game add more ammo if you pick up the same type of gun or even to have a throw gun function but running over a gun that has 1 bullet while you have a chainsaw with 600 rounds(?) left shouldn't make you switch weapons. I don't think making a weapon dropping button would be necessary. If you made the player only pick up a new weapon after he runs out of ammo, this problem would go away. All the weapons can fire fast which would make this easy to do since any weapon can be fired and emptied rather quickly.

Great job boyos, I love your shoot em ups.

Good code, but seemed unfinished.

From a coding standpoint it was pretty good, it worked well enough that I would play with it for a while if it was finished.

Negatives/Suggestions

Have a different background, it was a fun shooter but it looked very ugly. The trees got in the way, the lack of depth in the weapons, the lack of effects, the lack of visuals held it back. If you could work on the art/animation part of the game it would be great. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said before, so just add more visuals to the code.

Potential, but un intuitive.

The biggest problem is the tanks hit boxes, sometimes you cant hit them, and other times you always hit them and nothing else. I got to the super gold tank and couldn't wound it after shooting 5 clips of the max upgraded sniper rifle. Other then that, it is basically just not very fun. I enjoyed it but after one time you get bored, the upgrades aren't worth it, add more weapons, and go with a new angle, being able to see the weapon is kind of nice. Good effort there though.

It's been a long time.
